Terms and Conditions:

The renewal of the visa for domestic workers over 60 years of age in the UAE is subject to certain terms and conditions. These have been put in place by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) to make sure that employers needs are met while also making sure that domestic workers are treated fairly. First, employers must provide proof that they have a legitimate need for an additional worker, such as evidence of family size or business expansion. This is done to ensure that older workers are not taken advantage of and used simply as a source of cheap labor. Second, employers must provide valid health certificates from medical institutions approved by MOHRE. This will prove that the worker is fit to perform their duties without any risk to their health, which is especially important in light of their advanced age. Third, employers must submit a detailed job description outlining the duties expected of the domestic worker. This will help MOHRE determine whether these duties can safely be carried out by a person aged over 60. The job description should include details on working hours, pay rate and any other relevant information such as responsibilities or qualifications required for the job. Finally, employers should bear in mind that visas issued to domestic workers over 60 years old may be limited in duration depending on their role and ability to carry out their duties effectively and safely. Extensions may be granted at MOHRE’s discretion after further evaluation has been conducted. These simple but important conditions provide assurance that senior domestic workers will be treated with respect and care, guaranteeing their rights are protected while also allowing them access to much needed work opportunities in the UAE.

The UAE Labor Law defines domestic workers as “any person employed in any household for remuneration”. This includes all professionals who work on a full-time or part-time basis for an employer in various capacities such as cleaning, cooking, caring for children or elderly persons, gardening or other related duties. In order to obtain a work permit in the UAE as a domestic worker, one must be proficient in the job they are applying for. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has established requirements that must be met before any individual can gain employment status as a domestic worker. These include having relevant qualifications and/or certifications in their particular profession; being medically fit; holding valid identification documents; being able to communicate effectively with colleagues and employers; being trustworthy; having basic knowledge of safety precautions when carrying out tasks; understanding cultural sensitivities; being adept at using technology where required; having legal rights to live and work in the UAE; and adhering to labor laws set by MOHRE. Furthermore, under Article 32 of the Federal Law No 8 of 1980 (Labor Law), foreign nationals recruited by employers may not exceed 10 percent of their total workforce unless they have prior approval from the Ministry concerned. This regulation applies even more strictly regarding domestic employees who should not exceed 3% of an employer’s total workforce unless special permission is obtained from MOHRE beforehand. Overall, then, it is clear that there are certain rules that need to be followed before someone can become a professional domestic worker in the UAE. With new changes coming into effect allowing visa renewal for those aged over 60 years old – it has never been easier for individuals looking to contribute their skillset within this field!

How to apply for renewal:

Applying for a visa renewal for domestic workers over 60 years of age is a simple process. To begin, the employer must obtain approval from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) before submitting an application for visa renewal for their employee. The employer must provide details such as passport copies, ID card copies, and other necessary documents related to the employee. Once this is done, MOHRE will review the information provided and decide regarding the visa renewal request. If approved, MOHRE will issue an approval letter which needs to be submitted along with other required documents such as medical certificates and attested degree certificates to the Immigration Department at any local typing center to complete the procedure. Upon successful completion of all processes, employers will receive updated visas for their employees with new validity dates which should be noted down carefully. Besides, it is important that employers adhere to certain regulations when renewing visas for domestic workers over 60 years old. These include providing proof that all contributions towards Social Security have been paid by both employer and employee,    guaranteeing that valid health insurance coverage has been obtained for each employee and confirming that all services fees are up-to-date. Furthermore, employers must also guarantee they are compliant with current labor laws while applying for these visas in order to avoid any legal complications in the future. By following these steps and adhering to relevant regulations when applying for visa renewals for domestic workers over 60 years old, employers can enjoy peace of mind knowing their employees are legally licensed to work in the UAE under current laws.
